Paragon Law X Nottingham Trent University Prize Winner's Experience

NTU's 'Immigration and Asylum Law' Module  Competition Winner

With a strong passion towards immigration law, elements that appeal to Vanshika are the opportunities to develop a deeper root connection with people through assisting them on a realistic, personal and human level that the role encompasses. This current state of mind positions Vanshika in pursuit of a career within law upon graduation and ultimately qualifying as a solicitor.

Throughout the prize winner's work experience at Paragon Law, Vanshika was given the opportunity to shadow meetings with Paragon Law's expert solicitors. Detailing discussions revolving around case-specific visas and how cases are dealt with inside the firm on a daily basis. This first-hand experience provided professional and realistic insights into the world of immigration law, stating "I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn first-hand from qualified immigration solicitors and receive an all-encompassing view of what a career in immigration law entails after being exposed to all 3 departments of the firm".

 

From Academia To Professional Practice

Currently undertaking a 'Private Acquisitions', 'Family Law' and 'Private Client' elective modules within the LPC accreditation. Alongside the production of a dissertation on the current Rwanda Bill/Plan 2024. Vanshika chose such modules and topic of her dissertation as she believes "the relevancy of these subject matters are of great importance to the current climate in immigration".

Work experience was coordinated with Paragon Law's CEO/Director of Corporate Immigration - Thal Vashista. Of which Vanshika is described as "compassionate and demonstrates how Paragon Law assists upcoming law talents when visiting the firm. With Thal taking time out of his day to provide relevant tasks and supervision towards future career propositions, displaying a dedication towards nurturing up-and-coming solicitors".

Vanshika would be delighted to return to work for Paragon Law full-time, post-graduation, if the opportunity became available.
