## 1. Obtaining a Sponsor Licence

To sponsor a care worker, your organisation must hold a valid Skilled Worker sponsor licence issued by the Home Office.

### Requirements to get a sponsor licence:

- **CQC Registration:** From 11 March 2024, care providers in England must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to sponsor care workers.
- **Legitimate Business Operations:** Demonstrate that your organisation is operating lawfully in the UK.
- **HR Compliance Systems:** Implement appropriate HR systems to monitor sponsored workers and report any changes.

### Application Process:

- Apply online via the Home Office portal.
- Submit supporting documents, including proof of registration and company accounts.
- Pay the appropriate fee:
  
    - **Small Sponsors and Charities: £574**
    - **Large Sponsors: £1,579**
