### **Bringing your partner to the UK on a Visit visa**

The [UK Visit visa](https://www.paragonlaw.co.uk/personal-immigration/individuals-and-families/visitor-visa) is a short-term visa that allows individuals, including partners, to visit the UK for various purposes. Not everyone is required to obtain a UK Visit visa for visits shorter than 6 months, so it is crucial to [check whether a visa is necessary](https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa) before travelling to the UK. 

To be eligible for a Visitor visa, your partner must meet the following requirements:

- Intend to visit the UK for a short-term visit, lasting less than six months.
- Intend to leave the UK at the end of the visit.
- Can financially support themselves and any dependents during the visit.
- Can cover the cost of the return or onward journey, as well as any additional expenses related to the visit.
- Will not attempt to live in the UK through frequent or successive visits.
