Setting Up A Business in the UK

Paragon Law helps overseas companies and individuals to establish new businesses, subsidiaries and branch offices in the UK. Most recently, we’ve advised clients from Canada, the USA, India and China.

As immigration law specialists we advise and assist in the preparation of the entry clearance documentation required for the most appropriate route to setting up in the UK.

These routes can include:

  • Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) – this route requires you to have £200,000 of available funds that you can transfer to the UK and invest in your venture.
  •
  • Tier 1 (General) – this allows you to enter the UK based on your own previous earnings, qualifications, UK experience and age.
  •
  • Sole representative visa – this route allows a senior employee to come to the UK to establish your branch or subsidiary. The sole representative visa is a good option for overseas businesses seeking to establish a UK branch or subsidiary with minimum investment.

Paragon Law can work closely with your accountants and other advisers throughout the process. Alternatively, if you don’t have existing advisers, we can help you assemble a team of experts to ensure you are properly advised on every aspect of setting up your UK operations.

If your UK plans include the East Midlands region, we work closely with the international trade teams at the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA). EMDA can help you with relocation issues such as finding premises and understanding the government regulations you may need to consider. You can find more information at www.emda.org.uk.
