Advice on Sponsorship and Working in the UK

A sponsorship licence is essential if you wish to continue or begin employing non-EU nationals. The first step is to register with the UK Border Agency (UKBA) through the online application procedures.  Before you make the application, you must have in place all your procedures for employing non-EU nationals as the UKBA may want to make a compliance visit to check these policies and procedures before granting your licence.

Primarily the UKBA will want to be satisfied that you have adequate systems and procedures in place for:

  • Monitoring immigration status and preventing illegal working
  • Maintaining migrant contact details
  • Record keeping
  • Migrant tracking and monitoring
  • Recruitment practices and professional accreditation

Paragon Law’s business immigration team can guide you through the process of applying to successfully register as a Sponsor and ensure that you have robust procedures in place to satisfy the above requirements.  We can also continue to assist you in ensuring that you effectively manage your obligations and satisfy the relevant rules in respect of employing non-EU nationals under Tier 2 of the Sponsor Management System.
